A Delta Air Lines program to expand its New York Domestic footprint. Program initiated upon DOT/FAA approval of US Airways – Delta terminal swap. A renovation program that involved general and major modifications to create virtual single facility to provide passenger and operational efficiencies.
General Program
Program included New checkpoint configurations increased capacity by 50%, New and renovated Restrooms, New and renovated Lounges for American and Delta, New and renovated support spaces, Site work, new Emergency exits, Exterior facade, Roofing repairs, IT and WIFI Infrastructure, Concessions white-box development as well as coordinated effort with Port Authority to create Taxi hold/ pickup zones as well as traffic management controls during construction
Major Program
Baggage
- Screening – Major Building and Baggage construction to create Inline Screening and CBIS rooms
- Baggage claim modifications to address capacity requirements and new dedicated Baggage service offices
- Terminal C Bag room a phased full demo and redesign of make up units with new high speed roll-up door access to enhance operational efficiency
Power Infrastructure
- New building feeders increasing capacity, New Electrical rooms, New Switch gear, Flood doors and above ground Back up Generator
Connector Bridge
- Passenger Secure side bridge connecting Terminals C and D with moving walkways and dynamic Fire alarm safety system
Facility
- Glycol – Complete demo and replacement of Terminal C entire bag room system from pump room forward
- Fire Alarm – Replacement of non compliant Terminal C and D Fire Alarm system panels, wiring and devices as required
- Roof Replacement – Full High roof replacement and glazing repair at Terminal C
