British Airways JFK Program

Facility program to enhance passenger experience, improve operational efficiencies, building system upgrades, security as well as IT infrastructure and coordinate with Port Authority/TSA programs

INTERIOR

A Dynamically phased renovation program – Check-In hall, Security Checkpoint, New passenger queuing, Baggage system mods, Hold room expansion, Premier British Airways First class check-in, New building Emergency power, New counters/backwalls at check-in and gates, FIDS, GIDS, Lighting, Upgraded IT infrastructure, MEP modifications, Wayfinding, Carpet and Painting throughout. Vertical Circulation repairs and new passenger lift station. Restrooms renovated or spruced up on all levels as well as dedicated Flight crew and staff Security checkpoint

EXTERIOR

Scope included High Roof repair, new Ramp lighting, Departures roadway repairs, New Emergency exits and baggage make up carousel. Conducted planning sessions on potential projects to repair retaining wall and Jet Blast wall with adjacent Terminal 6 operator to mitigate aircraft usage of taxiway ‘A’ for pre-flight staging

CONCESSIONS

Coordinated new Concessions delivery, a Terminal Management program, establishing new offerings aligned with new building design configuration. Presented Terminal phasing program and dependency plan to Concession tenants and designers. Provided guidance on schedule alignment between Base building White box scope delivery and concession planning. Worked with Concession owners, contractors, design teams to address issues, schedules and approvals.

LOUNGES

An aggressive program requiring British Airways Lounge services to be maintained during construction. Phased Program included redesign, demolition of existing Lounge level that established an completely renovated and expanded British Airways as well as new Alaska Airlines lounge. Program included New Kitchen, Food Service and Bar locations, Premier Entry, Exclusive Zones, MEP, Restrooms, Finishes, Furniture, Business centers, Emergency exit, and Fire Alarm upgrade

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Lounge Emergency exit – Port Authority required Emergency roof top exit to be hard covered walkway structure, expedited custom solution, fabrication and delivery to meet schedule deadlines

Lounge Construction Security Plan – Established Landside access plan to 4th floor Lounge reducing cost and expediting schedule

Environmental Removals – Expedited agreement with PA Environmental to reduce schedule impact. Developed removal team access plan that eliminated staff and public visibility of operation
